Watching students explore and create at Camp Ignite, you witness rigor, relevance, and fun intermixed for an engaging learning experience. In this summer camp, students go deeper with the work that begins in our elementary libraries and classrooms: robotics, Minecraft, coding, movie making, and digital art.
Robotics comes in many forms, and through Makerspaces, students can investigate and design a variety of tasks:

Code the Ozobot to follow the maze. The colors determine the bots' path. |

Not only do students program the bots, but they also design unique maps for the bots to follow. It's a little like chess, as students have to determine which programs will help the bot progress and which will stall the trajectory. |

We often hear the word STEM referring to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but many have started to transform the concept as STEAM, adding art to emphasize the creative, and often visual, processes of these critical thinking tasks.
